DBVisulizer is a good, cross-platform tool.

There's quite a bit you can get done with just the free version.  The pro version gives you some editing convenience and whatnot, but most of the time raw sql is the way to go anyway.  I've used DBV for about three years now... I like it.

I like.  It's got that 'blub blub blub' Java feel, but otherwise, great.
