Belch! If you meet the sushi chef in the middle of the road, kill him.
Sharky, you want to clarify that statement a little? I make a point of not eating anything that I find in the middle of the road, so I'm guessing that it's the name of a local restaurant, or just a grade of fish?
Sunday I leave for two weeks in San Francisco. mmmm.... sushi.... I wonder if I can find a good place to get a bento box for lunch near where I'm working...
Chicago only has a handful of good sushi places. All the rest are either bad or "middle of the road" which means "middling".
Where in Frisco? Approximate address?
I always wondered about Asian cultures. You have the Chef guy running around with the sharpest knife you've ever seen, but you don't trust the customers with anything but a couple of twigs. I sort of imagine Ancient China as the Old West where people had to figure out a way to stop the saloon shootouts and someone finally figured out "Let's stop giving them weapons when they eat!"
Thank you for clarifying. This time of year Lake Michigan gets a little wild and wooly at times. Never know where you'll find a fish.
wheeeeeeee,
Hardee-fuckin'-har. Oh, sorry, I thought you said "Where is Frisco."
LOL!
Or else sharpened steel was so expensive only the chef got one. "Where in Frisco? Approximate address?"
Microsoft's Mountain View location, on La Avenida. "Microsoft's Mountain View location, on La Avenida."
Hell, right around the corner from where I grew up (yes, I did grow up). The best place I know is Sushi Zono on Hamilton in Campbell: http://www.google.com/search?q=Sushi+Zono+Campbell+ca YMMV. Added to the address book - I'll check it out. :-)
SushiTomi has the best sashimi in Mountain View.
Fuki has better americanized stuff like tempura, chicken teriaki, and may have better bento box. There are much better options for sushi if you go up to the city. But if you stay in Mtn View, those are the best. |
