One of my favorite television moments was when Newt Gingrich was on the Carson Daily show promoting his then-new book of analysis on critical Civil War battles.

Carson asked him "I have to ask, why does the world hate us? I think it's the government, but some people say it's how we're portrayed in the media."

Newt, obviously, said it was the media. They went back & fort in the most artificial manner possible.

This moment summed up the fake dance governments & corporations do, pretending to be adversarial, but really partners in trying to take over the world.

thats really interesting mark.  I know what you mean, I intensely dislike people who have an agenda that they refuse to admit from the outset.
They have a particular way of both trying to achieve an apparent integrity and yet at the same time actively working to undermine the very thing they want others to believe they intend to protect.

do you know what I mean?

That's some really subtle self-loathing you've got going on there.

:)  thats some deeply bogus psychobabble youve posted there.

perhaps you could be a little more specific about your meaning?  or are you going for the 'if I keep it general everyone will think its about them' effect?

Well, it *looks* like you're talking about Mark, but if your words are actually true, they apply to you as well.  Since you seem reasonably intelligent, I inferred that it was deliberate.

"Well, it *looks* like you're talking about Mark, but if your words are actually true, they apply to you as well"

LOL .  touche.

meh, I dont have much of an agenda though.  just a general dislike of two-faced niceness.

I _much_ prefer upfront nastiness.

and you have to admit I am being very upfront about my nastiness :)

Generally so.  I just thought that this was an exception.

huh?  what was an exception?  that post above?  I actually it was blindly obvious what I was doing.  Im not sure how I could have made it more obvious short of wrapping the entire thing in an "Im being mean to mark" xml tag.
or were you referring to something else?

" I actually it was "

should prolly have been:

" I actually thought it was "

but you can go with the original version if you prefer it.

The attack on Mark was obvious.

What I thought was the exception was the subtle attack on yourself.  Exception because you typically lack subtlety, and generally don't attack yourself.

Ive reread that post at least twice? I confess Im not seeing it.  beyond implying that mark is a two-faced liar, I dont see anything else?

Actually, wSV, you were spot on, as far as I could tell.

But, if you insist that you are incapable of understanding some of the finer points of something you wrote, far be it for me to argue with you.

oh for fucks sake dude, either stop the psychobabble or make your point.  Im tired of playing intellectual games with someone with 2 phds.

you got a point?  make it or go flush your head down the toilet.

I thought the point had been already made in my first post - that you were subtly alluding to some hidden self loathing.

Otherwise, I'm done.

By the way, nice way to keep banter going.
