It's a matter of educated choice, or putting your kids in a boarding school with a diet plan. Starve 'em at lunch and they'll just hit the chipshop on the way home.

Another example that shows why putting your children up for sale isn't a good idea.
it shows very clearly why outsourcing the provision of school cafeteria food to caterers is a bloody stupid idea.
give the business to a profit motivated business, and they will happily sacrifice the children to make a profit. what a surprise.
if the kids are going elsewhere for the crap, great! at least they are getting exercise along with their crap.
