If it is built on php, no!
actually, it is pretty interesting.
MySpace is worth about $300 and maybe a free-pc and internet connection.

The copyright holders are going to sign on for a % of revenue. (See TimeWarner deal).
YouTube is MTV.
They need to pump up the brand, diversify the offerings. Get some exclusive content.
Remember Super Channel, Sky, and Music Box all made deals with the copyright holders back in the 1980s. MTV negotiated the hardest. MTV still lives.

YouTube is MTV to stakeholders with a vision.
To the RIAA (or its video equivalent) it's the reason they can't buy a fourth Mercedes this year.
A lot of people cutting back on movie purchases 'cause they rather watch the 30 second low-res version on youtube?
Big media learned the Napster lesson. Youtube learned the Napster lesson.
This is going to settle with checks for the content companies and lots of fresh new content for youtube. win win.

Well, swell, Colm. Given your well-know expertise in asset evaluation and media pricing, I'm sure the bidders will take careful note of $750 million dollar price maximum
Do you have any reason for beliving that? How much do you think Microsoft is worth? Viacom? Myspace?
