Languages I *like* working with
You can pretty much work with any language, but I actually enjoy working with ruby, python or lisp (lisp being third).
Once you start developing, you don't mind spending several hours working with the language.
Working with java/.net makes you question your career choice...then you go back to ruby or something and the cycle starts over again.
I think the difference's not the language, but the type of task you do and the details required.
Using Java/C# on interesting project with less time pressure is quite interesting too.

I think the coolest part of .Net is CodeDOM and Reflection.
I should get around to teaching myself Lisp.
objective c is pretty cool, the language is kind of pretty and the cocoa framework ROCKS.
python I started outassuming it would be crap, becaues of teh whitespace matters thing, started to quite like it, then realised it was total crap...because of the whitespace matters thing.
ruby is ok, I haven't really used it enough to care.
java sucks in every way I can think of.
.net c# Ive never tried, but would love to have a go on.
c++ I love, c I mostly just enjoy and applescript is so retarded it makes me want to gouge my eyes out whenever I have to use it.
I could go on but Im getting depressed.
so many languages. so little time.

I want to have the time and actually sit down and write not only a compiler for a made up language, but a CodeDOM generator for it, too.

Use BeanShell :)

If Java sucks, then C# will suck too, as both are twins.
