The "speed of development" thread mentioning CoT is gone
I wouldn't be at all surprised if 'we' were to be excised from ?joel just by deleting whatever it is we post.
I'm sure that's the plan, stated or no.
I could write a screen scraper 'n form filler that would copy threads from here to there. The poor moderator (if such a thing exists), would only be begging for captcha.
That thread was posted via an anonymizer, of which there are a virtually infinite number, so it'll be a little more difficult for our friend Joel.
I wonder if Joel and crew an anxiously watching this board, looking for signs of the next attempt at subterfuge. He would never admit it, given that such an activity is so far below his lofty position, but I bet you Joel is sitting on Crazyontap.com hitting refresh constantly.

Well we are downright psycopathic forum dwellers dishing out an avalanche of unhappiness.
I wonder if Joel and crew ARE...

I was referring to Vineet's idea, for clarification. That would be hilarious.
And I have NO DOUBT that Joel is reading this board with interest.
Given that it replicates the more obvious functions of his flagship product, is free, and took AHA 3 hours to craft, if I were him I'd be selling my stocks in FogCreek and quietly moving out of the country... :)
Well he'd like to use RSS...
lol@Simon
Yeah Mat fix your RSS you bitch.
Also, Mat, Joel has stated before that the forum portion of his product was very easy to implement. He was bragging about how simple and perfect it was, iirc.
We should put an ad for Bugzilla on here somewhere.
Maybe at the end of every thread like:
--------------------------------------------------
We are a bunch of downright psycopathic forum dwellers. But when we aren't making people unhappy, we're using BugZilla! It's great bug tracking software that's well supported and free!
--------------------------------------------------
I suppose there is some kind of irony in that two open source alternatives also have their own alternative bug tracking software connected to them.
Jeff, you're sick. What a lovely idea >:@)

I've been posting over there the same as normal and haven't noticed anything odd. Maybe I'm not enough of an agitator, but I've never been one to backdown from an ?off fight.

I figure maybe 1 in 20 of my posts to the main forum ever appeared, so I gave up long ago. I tried to post a "Where'd ?off go?" thread but that never showed up, and I now see no point in going back there despite the fact that I know full well what a pointer is and am able to operate an on/off switch without supervision.
