A state employee, whose job it is to inspect lunches (wtf?) decided that it wasn't nutritious enough, supplemented it with chicken nuggets, and billed the mother $1.25 for them.

If I were the parent, I would become an activist over this.

Sending home a pamphlet about proper nutrition, possibly escalating to a call to a social worker, would be inflammatory, but probably appropriate in the case of a routinely malnourished child.

Unilaterally feeding the child food items without the parents' permission should be considered assault.

Kind of like when Indiana voted a state law to make pi = 3, in order to save time and simplify calculations.

How the fuck are chicken nuggets healthier than a turkey and cheese sandwich?  Okay the potato chips aren't healthy at all, but a sandwich and a banana?  That sounds healthier (and a lot more tasty!) than chicken nuggets (and I LOVE chicken nuggets!)
