There is still a lot of racism. It is changing though.

Most of Europe (UK and Holland in particular, and to an extent France from what I've seen), are already so cosmopolitan that inter racial couples raise absolutely no eyebrows. The UK especially. I never heard "but she's black" whispers about any friends' girlfriends at all.

Went to an inter racial wedding in Canada in December. It was quite a multi cultural event. Besides the His and Hers sides of the family, the rest of the guests were such a mix that it was almost like being at the United Nations.

I suppose it helps that the couple marrying are both well traveled, and still fairly globe trotting individuals.

Trying to use race to figure out which individuals were paired up would have been a totally futile exercise.

Made me feel so positive about the new generations, and the world they will live in.

I remember once seeing a list someone had compiled of 'famous' inter racial couples.

A lot more Americans than one might initially suspect! Tiger Woods, Robert Deniro, etc, and when you count the Latinas as a different race, it gets even more colourful.

That was my youthful plan shortly after I learned what racism was.

I would make a bunch of babies with people of other races and do my best to diminish the basis for the concept.

Then later I started thinking/learning about what it might possibly mean to be a parent.
