Jet Lag

Has anyone tried the anti-jet-lag diet?

Basically, for the 4 days prior to your trip, you alternate feast & fasting.

I haven't used a system like this, but I do strategically pig out and get drunk on long flights to fall asleep on the new time zone. If I can do that then I am fine.

But honestly, the only guaranteed way for me to not get jet lag is to fly business or first class. Then even 30 hour trips are a refreshing chance to watch TV, pig out, and play video games.

Yeah, the company has sprung for business class, since it's a 18+ hour series of flights.  Nice.

Just trying to find a way to avoid the jet lag.  I went to the UK a few years ago, and sitting in the customer's overheated conference room, I totally fell asleep.  Most embarassing. :-(  So I don't want a repeat.

I've heard not to drink, i'l flights dehydrate you enough...

Trying to sleep/stay awake so you're tired at the right time when you land just gives you a jump on the time adjustment.

Melatonin will also put you to sleep, if you don't want to drink.

I think at this point you'll have enough trouble finding something to drink, on an international flight.
