Sunday liquor sales pushed in Georgia

Only 3 states have a ban.

Connecticut is one of them.

Although they've pushed the 8pm deadline for retail liquor sales on Monday-Saturday all the way back to 9pm.

Party on.

I think only gays should be allowed the right to buy liquor on Sundays. Everyone else can either plan ahead or befriend a gay.

There are more than three states prohibiting off-premise Sunday sales on this list (13?) ...

Wow, what kind of redneck state is Conn.

"9 a.m. – 1 a.m. (Mon.-Thur.)*" -- on premise
"9 a.m. – 2 a.m. (Fri.-Sat.)*"  -- on premise
Monday-Saturday all the way back to 9pm -- off premise.

I love the New York limits:

"No sale of wine or spirits before 8AM on Sundays (on or off premises). Off-premises sale of wine and spirits is only at liquor stores, and beer is not sold at liquor stores. All wine or spirit sales are final; no returns or exchanges of purchases are permitted. "

Because at 7am, I like getting toasted.

Connecticut is incredibly Puritanical.  We're a blue state with lots of blue laws, which is weird.  It's a weird mix.  Pretty progressive on most social issues, but way behind the times on very specific ones.

This is a state where you'd best not be the man in a divorce, for instance.

I was there about 2 years ago.  Stopped in a Yale bookstore and chatted with the smart locals.  Nice buildings too.

Aren't there entirely dry counties in Georgia?  As in, in those counties they don't allow alcohol sales at all?

Yes, most every state in the south has some of those as far as I know.

Without a doubt, GA, TN, TX, FL, AL, and AR all have dry counties.

A little irony... The county in TN where the Jack Daniel's distillery resides is a dry one.

Good thing too, otherwise the employees would be showing up drunk and the quality would slip.

Instead of going home drunk? The quality's not that high.
