Management lack of power

I forgot to enter in my time (last 2 weeks), hehehhhhahhaaahaha.  Big deal.  You cant get rid of me (I dont think so anyway) because you just 3 java developers leave in the last month.  Plus, I am already scouting out other places.

Has management in general lost control over employees.  I know big mistakes are frowned upon, but those slack workers.  What can they really do.  And, I guess it comes down to personality.  There are some bosses I am scared of because they are just flat out mean.  But when others pull, policy...kind of laughable.

scout faster.  getting away with not filling in your time sheet is a small compensation, compared to what's available.

Maybe they can neglect to pay you.

I hate timesheets. But they're a necessary evil for anyone who hopes to work for themselves.

It is a fulltime pos.  I am really interested in that redhat/jboss job.  My friend is kind of prepping me.

I'm telling you; RedHat is no good. You have been warned.

I think their real engineers are really good. It's just that in order to make money they have to hire many medicore support personnals. The good ones are nicely compensated by IBM, Sun, HP and won't go to Redhat.

>> redhat pay sucks. <<

I've heard that it's intensely...average

They know that you want the prestige of putting RedHat on your resume, and they know they're on the controlling end of that bargain.

But other than that -- they have nice facilities over on Centennial Campus.  The area around it has built-out some -- this overhead is about 3-4 years old.

The facilities are nice, I've toured the main building on several occasions. They just won't pay, at least not at my level of employment, enough money. This is probably because, as noted, they think the name on your resume is compensation...
