right.  so they have his picture, right?  there is quite a big step between that and actually knocking on his door.

Gee, I dunno. It's not like the police have the ability to do something like, say, take a photo of a car & somehow turn that into an address. So it's a mystery to me too.

He said they caught him on camera, which is most likely a CCTV-camera and he said I went to turn on their parking lot, so it seems there might have been a car too.

His photo is in the national drivers license database that homeland security built. They are able to recognize people now even from a couple frames of a grainy 1/4 shot.
