How to make linux go fast
get a 3.3mhz AMD 64 cpu. Working on the graphics card, I guess I have an integrated via piece of crap, and I guess I am using vesa grahics. So far, not too bad.

via = shitty motherboard manufacturer
vesa = old, very old way to say svga. You used a vesa utility to play old msdos games in more than 16 colors (or 256, I don't remember very well)

The MB is asus, the integrated chips are from via. I got rid of the on board sound. Havent had much luck with the integrated video which is via.
I think I have given up. I am just going to use vesa. I got the opensource driver from above (a lot of sense that made) and everything was so cpu intensive. I am sticking with vesa for now.
Unless somebody has better advice.
