The terrorists wouldn't have attacked? And Bush wouldn't have been elected to his first term in 2004?
Right, 9/11 wouldn't have happened, because the Terrorism czar would still have been a cabinet post, and the Gore administration would not have ignored the Taliban warning signals for 9 months.
And should 9/11 have happened anyway, there's no WAY Gore would have invaded Iraq. Afghanistan, sure, that was justified. But we were maintaining a no-fly zone in Iraq under Clinton for a paltry 10 Billion a year or so -- no reason that couldn't have continued.
And Gore would NOT have unbalanced the budget with tax cuts in the first place, and then with a war financed on borrowed money in the second place.
It would not have been a Utopia, but it would have been much better than where we are now.
I wonder if people would've done more about the rigging of their elections if they had known how badly Bushie would fail them.
I wonder if they'd done LESS about rigging the election, or the Supreme Court would have worked harder about it.
plus, 9/11 was partially motivated as a form of revenge against the older bush on the younger bush.
Kenny, OBL stated that he wanted revenge for the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon. And he wanted the burning towers to remind people of the burning buildings in Beirut.
I just wonder what next-gen-obl will give to the US in revenge for the latest Israeli invasion of Lebanon.

Seems a rather tenuous rationale: 1982 invasion of Lebanon --> terrorism in US 19 years later?
Frankly, it's not difficult to come up with umpteen rationales for one's bad acts. If it wasn't Lebanon, it would have been something else (I thought the main claim at the time, was US forces in the holy land and US's unwillingness to defeat or acquiesce to Saddam).
And wasn't the Beirut embassy bombings in 1983/4 (?) adequate retaliation? Or because that was a Shi'a's doing it doesn't count on the Sunni side of the equation?
Hate/making a moral choice of any kind can always find a post ad hoc reason.

Yeah, bin Laden actually just wanted to be a dick.
>>Yeah, bin Laden actually just wanted to be a dick.
Are you denying his dickheadedness? Because if you ask me it was a dick move and he did it on purpose. So he can give it any reason he wants but no matter the reason he is a dick.
" 9/11 was partially motivated as a form of revenge against the older bush on the younger bush."
One of the many various Bin Laden bits that came out in the aftermath was that 9/11 was actually planned for the 1998 timeframe, but things didn't come together right.
Plus, Bush had only won the election ten months previously - Atta was in the US looking for flight schools in March 2000.
