I don't know how 'new' this is, but I have always wanted an easy way to watch internet video on my TV.
I was thinking, it would be interesting to create some kind of linux software that would do this seamlessly. You hook up some cheap linux pc. Add in an NVidia graphics card with TV output, hookup to the TV and internet and possibly some kind of wireless browsing device.
The hard part is the custom software. Obviously FireFox is too generic; so you want some kind of browser that can easily hook into sites like youtube, google-video?, etc.
I am surprised there isn't much of a market for this. I bet for tivo, it will be about a year before they start doing.
