RIP Philo

arrrghhhhh stupid, stupid, STUPID programmer

I want to add one tiny piece of additional information to my app and its going to require me to totally refactor a portion of it that deals with the coredata stuff.

jesus, when Im rich Im going to hire a competent programmer who can foresee this shit.

there _must_ be another way to get that info simply...

oh, wait, that should do it..if I encapsulate that stuff in a separate class and then instantiate it it from each place...

oh, SURE, mr smartass.  how would you do it then, eh?

it takes a brave man to warp his perfect design totally out of recognition just to implement the display of a single mildly important piece of data.

my willingness to do this just proves Im a genius.

moron.

he he, the initial separation has worked nicely too.  turns out I had already kept the relevant methods pretty clean.

now to tidy up the non-threadsafe bits and Im all good.

jeez, I love being a programming genius.  it makes life _so_ much more fun.

hmm, note to self...must start using source control sometime...

We should bronze this thread, as an example to future programmers of the process you go through.

From initial dispair, to coming up with a simple solution, to the abuse you get for your solution (whatever it happened to be), to the implementation, to the joy you feel when the implementation finally works.

All in 8 posts or so.  This could be a classic.
