I know I don't...
I've never read Scoble (for example) enough to be sure, but the couple times I did read his blog it seemed like all it consists of is:
- talking about himself: what conference he's at, who he's talking to
- giving vague and bland evaluations of various companies/projects/products that he comes across - they're "cool" or "interesting" or "promising." As I asked here once before, has anything he thought was hot ever taken off?
- uh.... that's about it.
Similarly w/ Jackie whatever Passey... she talks about how great she is, how great her boyfriend is... Why does anyone care about that shit?
OTOH, after Joel posted a link to "Enplaned" (a blog about the airline industry), I started reading some flying blogs and they've been really interesting. A couple by commercial pilots for big North American airlines, a couple by pilots of corporate jets, some columns (not a blog) by air traffic controllers. These have all been interesting because it's been an education on a subject I knew very little about (and was totally mistaken about a lot of things), and although there are some "flying blog personalities," what makes them interesting to me is that they're loaded with expert content, not just the writer's opinions of every stupid little thing that crosses their mind.
Uh, what was the point... I forget what I started to say... something about how I don't care about the Kathy Sierra "uproar" because I don't care what Scoble or the Instapundit guy think about anything.
