Rick Tseng and Muppet
I find Muppet to be cranky, irritable, mean, nasty... he's the polar opposite to me in terms of beliefs/ideals, politics, etc... Sometimes Muppet writes things that make me want to scour the internet so I can come up with a brilliant rebuttal.
Rick... his robotic uninteresting answers often remind me of myself, or at least of how I used to be on the internet. I'm a people pleaser type, and it took me several years to strip my web identity of that crutch (and much of it still lingers at the back of my web persona's throat).
Muppet keeps things going. He's like the engine of a forum. When things slow down, he steps up and gets it crankin' again. He does it by being trollish and egotistical and self-centered.
Rick keeps dropping wrenches into the gears. And I'm convinced that he does it 'cause he thinks he's like Muppet - keeping conversations going by adding a bit of controversy. And yet the way he does it, it often fails at this task.

I fail to see how I'm very egotistical or self-centered. If you mean that I don't really care about the reactions of other people to my protected free speech, then I suppose you're right.
March 29th, 2007 12:32pm
self centered as in you like to talk about yourself. it's a trait not normally associated with introverted types.
egotistical in how much weight you put in your own opinions. many "people pleasing" types waffle with their opinions because they're afraid to stick their neck out.

So, having conviction in your words is egotistical? I suppose technically that's true, but 'egotistical' is a term with a lot of stigma attached. Why should conviction be stigmatized?
I post about myself because myself is what I know. Lots of people here post about themselves. Granted, I have a lot to post about, but I don't think I'm the only one who finds my life interesting. I get into some crazy shit and often, it's entertaining or even funny.

Welcome to another episode of <flourish/><drumroll/> MUPPET META!
A foray into the depths of assumed psyches by presumed experts to meet indisputable facts of the human spirit and unfortunately greet them as well. Bolding pushing the limts of human discourse, where neither exists. Nor can.

That was unusually incoherent for even you.
Welcome back, Plus, whichever anonymous dickhead you are.
March 29th, 2007 12:46pm
Thanks for the reception. Honored. But I can't accept your accolade. I'm merely as anonymous as you.

Well I must have missed the big unveiling, then, because around here I'm about as anonymous as the POTUS.

Apparently so does Kenny...

He's a regular here?
This explains so very much...

That might explain LeMonde...

Are you stone cold drunk?
Aside from years of postings that often included graphic descriptions of his medical issues, muppet has shared with us photos and the approximate address of his home, pictures of his family, his full name, the state he lives in, the nature of his and his wife's employment, his child's name and age, details of his previous marriage. He has posted links to a website he runs. He invited us all over to his neighborhood to play with his laser toys. At one point, his phone number was posted on the forum and someone called him. (as I recall the conversation was short). He told us all about his battles with a crazy asian lady while he worked on his novel. Oh, he also posted the full text of the novel. I belive the archives should contain the make and model of his current and previous cars and his approximate income.
Muppet has been the stick that stirs the pot, the pot that is CoT.
You are just some Indian fellow (probable) who uses syntactically tortured sentences to make rude comments.

Previous Jetta, current some Hyundai. I think there has been approximate income, but I've forgotten it. Also cell make/model of cell phone, current after-work programming project, pets (ok, that's mostly over on Blah, but sometimes spills here)...

Roughly as smart and good natured as the POTUS, too.

Muppet is famous from that show he was on with the green lizard and the pink farm animal. Yes?
