Vista is slow
I'm reloading one of the other machines in the house, and used my Vista machine as a temporary place to store the files. To copy 56GB back to the freshly loaded machine, it's currently telling me it's going to take 2 days and 5 hours to complete.
Sheesh.
There's a hotfix out, but it doesn't apply to my machine.

on the bright side, its not just slow its also stupid....the 2 days and 5 hours is almost certainly entirely incorrect.

No anti-virus installed - just the Windows Defender, etc. that it came with.
Now the progress dialog is saying "About 6 days and 4 hours". Must have hit a batch of small files.

2.84 MB/sec
On a 100MB/s full-duplex wired ethernet connection.

Since when have time estimates in file transfers been accurate in any software?
