I wish I could point to a URL, but it's on video on CNN. Some Chinese company who makes leather sofas apparently lists the color as "Nigger-brown". In the article I saw, the lady of African descent whose cute five year old daughter showed her the label was not especially amused.
"Mommy, what's 'nigger-brown'?"
"That's the no-account man your aunt married, who can't hold a job or stay out of jail. Stay away from him."
Wonder if you can get a model in "cracker-white"?

Someone needs to tell the lady about Engrish. Probably just an inept translation. "Negro" is a common Latinate word root meaning black or dark, and it's only a short jump to cross referencing it in an English dictionary with slang.
The crappy Asian to English translations have apparently moved downmarket over the years from camera instruction manuals to furniture tags.

The "E.S. Nigger Brown Stand" at a stadium in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, named after Edward Stanley "Nigger" Brown - a white footballer who famously used the Nigger Brown shoepolish manufactured by Kiwi, has come under attack in recent years, but they refuse to change it.
If China still uses "Nigger Brown" it's not because they misspelled anything or misinterpreted anything, it's because Nigger Brown was used in America at one point and they just never got the memo.
That is one ugly couch.

Why didnt they just get black.

But they never use chinkish yellow...

Would they feel any better if it was called "African American Brown"?
It's obviously some translation error that was supposed to mean "black/brown" or something, which btw is a very good description of the color of the couch. Nevertheless an embarrassing fuckup.

You mean they called dogs after African-Americans and the RSPCA didn't do anything about it?
