"actually believe the book of Genesis is literally true"
What ARE you suggesting, PE? That that might NOT be the case? You can go to hell for that kind of talk, you ARE aware of that, are you not? So, did adam and eve have belly buttons? Since belly buttons are a side effect of being born the old fashioned way. Why would God put defects on His creation?
"side effect"? Man, if God wanted to make Adam and Eve with belly-buttons, I think that's a very simple addition to make. After all, he didn't want them to feel left out of anything.
I still don't get the whole rib thing. Why do women's outnumber men's? Except men deserve it. To be out-ribbed that is.
But women don't really have extra ribs, they have 12 pairs, same as men.
It's a very good question to ask of a evangelical. Would you like to know how the evangelicals I work with responded? They said that's not true, it is a known fact that women have extra ribs, just like the bible says. Oh, that's dumb then. But the Bible doesn't say men have fewer ribs than women, does it?
No, but the evangelicals I'm speaking of don't even realize that so this is an entertaining exercise on many levels.
