Give ne back my hat!

Being a part of the big event

Whenever big shootings happen, one of the most discomforting parts is the seeming wishing for it to be *really* big.

Clutching around, trying to find a news source giving an even more monstrous number. Come on, this one has to get in the record books!

What a sad event.

Oh, and in the spirit of copycats, expect several more school shootings to occur in the next couple of months.

Well this one seems to have broken the previous record of 24, so yeah, we're number one, we're number one.

Motive would be interesting for this one.  I am suspecting, crazy ROTC student that got booted or something.

I doubt there's a personal motive for this one - those personal motive ones are usually single-site, with certain individuals targeted. This sounds more like someone who is just totally insane, or is trying to make some sort of political statement.

Who cares about motive. Everybody has a motive. That's not the problem. You need to prevent those with the motive to do these things.

It's really sad.
Dad graduated from there as a Chem-E in the mid-1940's, and lots of people I work with are V-T graduates.

They singled out the engineering building.  My vote says that the Statics & Dynamics class pushed them over the edge.

I took that class.  Is actually harder than it sounds.

I'm a VT grad... engineering science & mechanics, class of 2000 ... I spent most my time taking classes and studying in Norris Hall, they have the fluid mechanics tank and the lasers in the basement... I think I still have a key somewhere.

I had Prof Librescu. He was a funny old Romanian fellow. Very nice guy. I'd agree with the above post- it was probably a statics or dynamics class.
