Everything I need to know, I learned from CoT
For this whole VT shooting story, I think I've read maybe 2 news stories from any other site. I've been able to follow the whole thing just by reading the discussion here. And, based on talking to my wife - who has been reading "normal" news sites like CNN - I haven't missed anything.
My hold on "The Omnivore's Dilemma" finally came in to the library - thanks, Peter.

I haven't watched news since before it happened. You just reminded me, I think I may pop it on for a few seconds just so I don't miss it altogether.
Sheesh. Turned on the news and it's like they are afraid of every little aspect. It's as if being afraid were an energizing drug. chuckling.
When there's any video news worth watching it eventually trickles onto youtube and I just catch it there.

Reddit also. In fact, much of what gets posted on CoT, they found on Reddit first.

What's the "Omnivore's Dilemma" -- "Do I eat my own children?" or something?

Heh... from the first link...
"If TV gives autism to children, imagine what myspace and youtube will do to them."
I'm predicting sociopathic disorders that lead to unrivaled crimes against humanity.
