should i bang

the ceiling at 2:30AM to wake my upstairs neighbor who wakes me up every morning at 3:30AM?  Or should I behave rationally and leave a note?

My suggestion, for what it's worth: try leaving a note first.

If that doesn't work, then leave another note saying you'll get local law enforcement involved.

I think the bang would be more expected.

The note may scare and aggravate them more, who knows.  People above always sound like they are jumping up and down and have sex clearly.  So I choose one stories with no one above.

Maybe you should bang the upstairs neighbor.

You have to ask?

My next-door neighbor used to leave the porch light on all night.  It blazed into my window, even with the blinds closed, and drove me nuts for weeks as I tossed and turned in a resentful rage.

Finally I just left a nice note.  A NICE note.

They've never left it on again.

Buy earplugs; sound proof the wall if it's a side neighbour.

Check what meds your neighbour is on first..

I've thought about getting earplugs, too, since I also have an 'at-times' noisy upstairs neighbor.

But I'm worried that they might work too well, and I won't hear my alarm clock.

Poison their pet or throw acid to their children face. Or better yet (as you live in Chicago), pay 100 bucks and get them wacked.

"pay 100 bucks and get them wacked."

Trust me, this has been in my fantasies.
