Sort of the "I didn't do it.....but even if I did you didn't say I couldn't" defense from one's youth there.

Not to mention that specifically saying that she didn't release the voicemail isn't quite convincing. How about "she had nothing to do with the release of the voicemail", rather than something that reads like "she asked her handler to release it".

You'd think if she had no clue how it got out they'd be cancelling their phones and changing providers.
