The domain was bogus.  It was just "Chris was a useless asshole and now hes a corpse blah blah" or something similiar.

odd, for some reason I thought I clicked on it and it was registered.

its not in my history though.

I have this sneaking suspicion that Chris is not dead, and this is all a well played out hoax. Did anyone figure out how Carlos found his way to ?off?

I asked that question before, and it still seems odd to me, but the story has been corroborated plenty at this point and even local police have been cited.  I think it's pretty safe to say that the guy is actually dead.

by a lucky coincidence a heretofore unknown poster (who later stated clearly and loudly that he had done so before anyone asked) had added the link to the Joel forum so that Carlos was able to find his way there.

but actually I dont believe Carlos actually played a big part(?) Mark and others called various embassies.
Carlos simply provided the address of chris' flat.

an incorrect address as it turned out, chris was in the process of shifting.

So the Story Of Carlos is weird and riddled with coincidences and unlikely events, but actually in terms of the outcome its pretty much entirely irrelevant.
