Welcome to Crazy on Tap
I didn't have too much time today (about 3 hours) to work on the site but I think I accomplished my goal -- get something half-usable online.
This is an unashamed rip-off of the Fogbugz forums. I don't believe now is the time to be rushing off and changing what works.
Assuming anyone actually bothers to use this site, I will make the code available open-source with subversion access. There have always been some improvements I've wanted to make to the JOS forums without destroying it's minimalist style and I suspect many of you have had similar thoughts -- maybe now is our chance.
Quite a bit of the functionality you expect from ?off exists here. Cookies work for saving your name, email, and url. The links change color as you would expect. The missing elements are email and search. There is also no logging of IP addresses and no moderation.
Enjoy!

No Flasher - all posts show up as the OP. I think the plan once it's finished is to point crazyontap.com at these forums once the hosting has been sorted out.

It's been fixed already, OK?
Well done, BTW.

Hey, what happened to the time stamp? It's only doing Month, Day, Year. We lost time-of-day.
Not really a problem, though.

JOS never had time of day!
I'm planning on changing that too but I want it to display in your own timezone.

I think it's Simon Lucy who's in New Zealand (maybe it's FNR). If you post the time as the local time-zone, you'll need to put in a modifier that shows what time zone it is.
Otherwise, FNR's posts will be 6 hours off from the rest of us -- maybe even in a different day.
Just a thought.

Oh, wait, you mean modify the time we see so that it adjusts for the time zone of our browser?
Interesting.

Yes. On other forums I've created I do that. Some javascript sets a cookie containing your timezone offset and then everything is displayed according to that. All posting times are, of course, stored in GMT.
