SaveTheHubble is smart, discuss

Since I have been on CoT.  Only SaveTheHubble and PE have made some interesting points.

"So, Bush wanted to put a stable democracy in the Middle-East, to prevent Terrorism.  That Iraq cannot BE a stable democracy in a 9-month period was outside his Reality Distortion zone.  I'm sure he's very confused by that, confused why the Iraqi's are still fighting, confused why there isn't peace already.  So, NOW he's doing the Gambler's Fallacy -- just a LITTLE MORE force will turn this fiasco into a win. "

Here is SaveTheHubble on Iraq.

And a question.  How long do you give Bush before he pulls out?  He will have to before the end of his presidency?  At that point it won't matter.

Bush never wanted a stable democracy in Iraq.  What he wants is a regime that will funnel Iraqi oil and subsequent profits to the corporations in the United States.

So there's no way we're pulling out of Iraq while he has anything to say about it.  What, and let go of all that oil?  And the profits to be made from war profiteering?  So what if it's bankrupting our country and making more and more enemies worldwide every day?  He and his buddies are rich and powerful and getting richer and more powerful.

He won't pull out.  He's dragged it out long enough that he can keep it going until it's someone else's program.  It's really the best choice for him.

I've gotta ask - how does this apply at all? While most of us are clinically insane, *everyone* has made thoughtful posts from time to time.

Very, very odd thing to say.

Indeed, it 'tis odd, and to be honest it comes across as remarkably arrogant:

"I have passed the ultimate judgement on all that has said and been done, and here is my decree!" thunders from the heavens.

I'm supposed to be the arrogant one here.

Denman is the smartest one here. He talked about banning Israeli products from supermarkets, and guess what? Orthodox Jews in Israel will not eat Jewish produce this year ... it's the year (every seven, so 'sabbatical') to let the fields go fallow. The true believers will not eat unfallowed food, they will mostly buy Palestinian produce this year.

Thats funny, in the past 2 weeks these two people strike me as the least interesting, especially STH.

I find no one here interesting, as I have all the answers!

Darn, and I've been so EARNEST, too.

Ah well, "a prophet is never appreciated in his home town".

I THINK that's an almost complete non-sequitur.

In regards to Bush -- He just repeated on Friday that "Failure is not an option".  So I don't think he CAN pull out during his Presidency, not voluntarily anyway.

That, or he's gonna have to redefine "Failure", such that 'redeploying to the States' is not a failure.

Of course STH is smart, he's a rocket scientist!

Or at least, he's a scientist at a place known for rockets.
