botlist: sexontap.com
hey bot, I missed the earlier conversation plus Im a bit of an attention whore, so clearly starting a new thread was the best way forward.
the single biggest problem you are going to have with botlist is overcoming the network affect, until its being used by a heap of people there is no reason for anyone to use it.
apparently the reddit guy overcame that by paying a heap of people to use reddit for the first 6 months.
assuming you dont have the financial resources to follow suit, why not choose a specific niche that you want to make popular and market the hell out of _that_.
something that is currently not covered by craigslist, reddit and so forth.
say selling motorcycle parts.
then expand your focus once you have a heap of people using your selected niche.
wtf? where did the sexontap.com bit come from? I swear I didn't type it, or copy n paste it.
weird.
For me I don't even understand what botlist.com is. It's a reddit clone I guess. OK. Well... I like Bot, but I already got too many sites to visit and that doesn't seem to offer anything new that I comprehend so I don't go there. Sometimes Bot posts links to it and I look at it but I've never understood what it is for.

You are right on with your first post, WSV.
It should be focused on a niche.
And the sexontap stuff got my day off with a nice laugh.
WTF indeed.

I don't understand the sexontap thing. How could it be there if you didn't type it or paste it?
Gremlins?
It was simply is other personality typing it what he really thought. Bot should make a sex reddit.

I dont think a sex reddit is very useful. I wouldnt use it. Here is what I am going to do now. I am still going to have some of the functionality it has now. I am pulling news feed from some of the same top sources that reddit users post. But also allow a postings from users.
A feature that reddit or digg or others haven't really tapped into is youtube or other media. I would like to include images/links to youtube videos of the same stories that are popular at the time.
Is that ok for you guys?

..that is an astonishingly good question..
It was Victor who did it. He was here a moment ago but he's gone in the other room just now.
