Dear SaveTheHubble,
once again you stand amongst your blah p & p peers as the first and only person to admit to themselves and to others that sharky was treated shabbily, with an impressive lack of respect, and deserves an apology.
kudos.
Im still disappointed that you approved the lies of others with your silence though, I think you mostly try to be better than that.
I mostly agree, but I remain speechless with surprise and so I will not comment further.
I am humbled.
Thanks.

I didn't mean "thanks, that you're humbled", I was responding to wSV above.

I'm scared to ask this, but what makes you (Mike B) draw that conclusion?

Don't be trolled, hubble.

What? You have to ask?
Michael B
July 18th, 2007 3:42pm
No, I didn't HAVE to ask, but since I'm the largely clueless one (I understand myself perfectly, it's all you others out there I seem to have difficulty with) I thought I'd give you an opportunity to clarify your short and cryptic aspersion.
But whatever, dude.

?? that was a _joke_?
congratulations! ones first internet joke is always a little hard, so dont be upset that yours came out as funny as a damp face cloth.
the important thing is to Keep On Trying.

awwww. ::sniff::
thanks big B. really. something like this, a gift of real appreciation and thoughtfulness, is very rare in my life.
its beautiful.
*sigh*
It's never as funny if someone explains it. You know, wSV, you could've spared SaveTheHubble's feelings by acknowledging the joke sooner.

" you could've spared SaveTheHubble's feelings by acknowledging the joke sooner."
oh, I know. and I assure you...if I had the slightest inkling that you were attempting to be funny I would have alerted STH to the fact immediately.
in my defence there was absolutely no indication that such might be the case.
maybe you should reread the book I sent you after your last 'joke' effort. 'Internet Humour For Extreme DumDums'?

OMIGOD! AG! YOU GOT THE JOKE!
This is _HUGE_. as unexpected as it is pleasant.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Its _really_ good to see you managing to interact with CoT residents in an almost normal way, you really _are_ proof that mild and ongoing stupidity is no bar to a mostly normal life.
this has been a big day for everyone. Im almost tempted to suggest we shut CoT down for the day, clearly it has peaked....any further posts today can only be anti-climatic.
What, quit now? Surely you must have at least six, seven more hours of trolling left in you.

:) do you _really_ want to bring our respective children into these conversations in that fashion? cause, you know, I am perfectly willing to begin a discussion of yours...
Oh, dear, escalation is setting in. This is not good, not good at all.

Oh, no contest there. Mine are much, much worse. But then again, yours aren't teenagers yet. Give it time.

heh. tell me about it. just thinking ahead to the problems they will need to negotiate...drugs, employment, relationships....scares me silly.
of them all, I must admit drugs are the most terrifying. I have literally no idea how to help them avoid the worst consequences...looking back on my own history it seems to me to be perfectly random whether or not you get involved with them...and if you do, whether or not you eventually manage to claw your way back out without destroying yourself.
if I were a praying man, I would be doing so. as it is, Im stumped.
Well, comparing my kids, who got into some trouble, to kids who didn't, I'd say that one thing I should have done was to spend a lot of time with them in constructive activities. Do things as a family and enroll the kid in as many interesting pursuits as you can. Idleness is the devil's playground.
Being a single parent made it difficult, but that was no excuse. I should have tried harder.

"I'd say that one thing I should have done was to spend a lot of time with them in constructive activities."
that sounds like good advice. currently things are pretty good in that area, I get to look after the girls in the morning and ms wSV does so in the afternoons and there is a lot of time for doing stuff like partks and whatnot.
"Do things as a family and enroll the kid in as many interesting pursuits as you can. Idleness is the devil's playground. "
good advice. its going to be a harder to do that for me, Ive never been much of a joiner so Im going to have to push myself to help the girls do so.
"Being a single parent made it difficult, but that was no excuse. I should have tried harder."
<shrug> one thing Ive learnt even after only 2 years, with children comes guilt.
dont beat yourself up, all we can do is do what we can and see what happens.
...we also tend to be most aware of what we see as our own failings, even though they may not actualy be responsible for any given consequence.
on the bright side, now you have the benefit of hindsight, any new kids should grow up perfeect :)
NEW KIDS?? Are you crazy?
They're 17 and 20. I am so done.
