What you do is you give me a perfectly reasonable $15/month and I set you up with a full system on your own domain using Drupal.  You'll get everything that wordpress.com has plus a lot of things that Wordpress can't do, like run your own forums.  It even includes features like Akismet spam filtering (stolen wholesale from Wordpress).
