And I like it very much.
Volume not quite loud enough though.
I just bought thishttp://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202641103&adid=17654&dcaid=17654
And I like it very much. Volume not quite loud enough though. Thank you for the link. I just ordered one for myself. I've wanted one for a while, just didn't want to plunk down that kind of change. Ideal for music while I exercise or when I need to tune out the family to get work done.
Exactly. 1G is all I need for such a purpose.
and for $30, it was worth taking a chance on.
Hey that is cool, does it have a built in mic? It says it does voice recording. Does that work ok?
I haven't tried the voice recording yet...gimme a bit.
Voice recording isn't bad. Strange that "record" is in the recording menu, but to hear it, you have to go to the Music menu page down to the recordings list.
What's the battery situation? Does it recharge or use penlights? How long does a charge last and how many cycles?
(I ask since I need a voice recorder, but I'm concerned that the color LCD and fancy OS use so much juice as to have expensive batteries and/or shelf life in which case maybe I just need a pen recorder or such.) Also I assume this has some USB connector thing and you can see the file system from your computer when attached...
It takes AAA batteries. I have no idea. I looked in the spec and instructions and there is nothing about how long the battery should last.
My kid has one (which hey paid closer to the full price, but got the full storage too) and he loves it. It plugs into USB, and the battery seems to last pretty well. The one warning he had was not to leave it in a hot car for days on end. For some reason extended extreme heat doesn't seem to be good for reliability. Once it cools down though it's pretty good.
