Sanding our assholes with 150 grit.

Keystone Koppery

Mr Andrews (Immigration Minister), who decided Haneef had failed a "character test" under the Migration Act, also took the extraordinary step of criticising the Opposition for supporting the Government in its handling of the case.

That's almost good enough for an Antipodean "Yes Minister" except that Haneef, grabbed on his way out to India to see his newborn daughter, is still in solitary awaiting the outcome of this farce.

This has been festering for weeks and will come to a head soon. Andrews revoked Haneef's working visa so he would remain detained despite being bailed for charges now being reformulated.

I suspect that dud information from the UK is at fault but no-one will take the first backward step for fear of seeming soft or losing access to shared intel.

He must have bought the wrong kind of phone card!

I think this is a purely Australian fuckup. The Brits are meanwhile giving away loads more of their liberties (my belief is that this is to gather support from the Daily Mail agains the slide to Sharia; when Brown and his bullies have finished the Daily Mail will say -- "we can't have this Islamist stuff - they're a load of pinko liberals. Executions before trial and all this Hampstead luvvie nonsense."
