Oh I so hope it gets this far. I want to see Harriet Miers in Congressional custody file a habeas corpus motion just so Pelosi can say "sorry - your boss did away with it. We'll put it back real soon now, 'kay?"

it is just about at the end of the beginning of the bush's administration game.

how about this for a scenario:

the supreme court--led by roberts*--for the first time finds in favour of presidential privilege.

up until now both the executive and the legislative branches have avoided a showdown in the supreme court over this because both wanted to avoid actually losing.

bush is no longer interested in avoiding this showdown.

I am _very_ worried.


* roberts is on record as being a very strong believer in 'presidential executive'...you thought that whole suggesting him after the lame duck nominee was a loss for bush?  it wasn't.

Alito has even more radical opinions on the Constitution. Both these guys were chosen because of their commitment to eradicating personal rights while allowing corporatism and statism to run even more out of control.

So, were fucked more than "normal"?
