Did rows with them this morning.  6 reps of alternating rows with a heavy pair, followed immediately by 6 reps of simultaneous rows with a lighter pair.  Followed by pushups to match the pull motion with a push motion.  Fun.

I got a 24lb kettlebell.  I only have the one.  I am still learning the moves, so only one-arm swings/snatches, two arm swings, squats(sumo and front), turkish get-ups (difficult for me), and regular military press.

After two weeks of that 2-3 times/week, I am now doing 135lb bench press for reps (2 45lb plates plus bar), not just 1 or 2, but REPS.  Amazing.  I finally broke past a sticking point (plus shoulder fix-y now).

I totally did 3 sets of triceps press-downs (pulley type) with the pin at 90lbs!!!!

WTF!

Doin' a happy dance!

Anyway, endurance is getting better too.  Recovery is harder as I get older though.

Yup.

I'm thinking once you get past 50-ish, gaining muscle would be pretty damned hard.  So you ought to put on what you intend to keep before you get to that age.

exactly, xampl.

I think one of the reasons I dropped everything for now and I am focus on my workout routine so hard is because 40 is coming and from what I can tell, you are correct that after a certain age you just don't get the  same result.
