Moore being subpoenaed about his impromptu trip to Cuba.
Bush is a fuckwad. And I hope Moore uses his usual wit to show the world, once again, what a fuckwad Bush is.
Hmmm. I didn't know I couldn't go to Cubawithout permission.

{Chuckle. Snork} I mean, *Hanoi Jane* as a journalist ??? I have friends who've gone to Cuba. They flew through Canada.
The whole probibition thing is crazy. We could have gotten rid of Castro 40 years ago by normalizing relations with them. Enough American tourist dollars and their regime would have collapsed like a house of cards. >We could have gotten rid of Castro 40 years ago by normalizing relations with them. Would would that have caused them to collapse like a house of cards? Ultimately the American approach probably would have worked if other countries were onboard, but we weren't (and aren't). We weren't onboard with the US' single-minded ideology. For all of Cuba's faults, her people generally enjoy a quality of life much better than many of her neighbors. Free market devoid of ideological constraints is best. See, South Africa and apartheid.
Fidel is only holding on out of spite. 6 months after the embargo falls, he'll be dead. Like how many old farts die after xmas/new years.
>Jane Fonda was there a few years ago, as a "Accredited Journalist". Was that when she was married to the guy who owned CNN? Another reason to vote Democrat, but not for Hillary. Vote for Edwards, especially, or Obama, if you want to see us open dialog with dictatorial-like guys. I think Edwards could even win some of them over - big plus for him, in my book.
At first it sounds bad, but then you are reminded of our official stance. Yeah. Vote for a man because the assholes overseas don't take females seriously.
Obama's answer was silly. He don't get what power is. Imagine if he was running for Senate and said if he won he'd sit down and talk to the local KKK or the local NAMBLA org. No.

I doubt anyone can remember that far back. >I have friends who've gone to Cuba. They flew through Canada.
I've heard stories of people being prosecuted for doing that. You'd typically be okay, but if anybody hates you enough they could report you for doing it and then you'd be fined $2-3 grand. |
