I have friends who've gone to Cuba.  They flew through Canada.

The whole probibition thing is crazy.  We could have gotten rid of Castro 40 years ago by normalizing relations with them.  Enough American tourist dollars and their regime would have collapsed like a house of cards.

Ultimately the American approach probably would have worked if other countries were onboard, but we weren't (and aren't). We weren't onboard with the US' single-minded ideology.

For all of Cuba's faults, her people generally enjoy a quality of life much better than many of her neighbors.

Another reason to vote Democrat, but not for Hillary.  Vote for Edwards, especially, or Obama, if you want to see us open dialog with dictatorial-like guys.  I think Edwards could even win some of them over - big plus for him, in my book.

I've heard stories of people being prosecuted for doing that.

You'd typically be okay, but if anybody hates you enough they could report you for doing it and then you'd be fined $2-3 grand.
