Mr. Nixon Says

From Sicko...

In private on HMOs: I liked the plan from Kaiser. All the incentives are for giving people less health care.

On TV pomoting HMOs: I want Americans to have the best health care possible.

If you watch the movie and this nation doesn't disgust you, then I have no explanation.

He was a criminal. You expected him to have moral beliefs or something?

That's a little too easy of an out. It's the same strategy we see over and over again today. To old people: you'll have more access to medications. To industry: we've made it so you can charge anything you want for drugs.

"Easy of an out"? What strategy?

WTF are you talking about? Speak English.

> Speak English.

And of what use would that be to you?

When you discount someone by saying they are a criminal you are saying they are outlier, nothing to be concerned about because it's abnormal. Yet that's not the case. It's common practice. It's how things worked. Nixon just made tapes is all.

I'm English. Take a guess.

>When you discount someone by saying they are a criminal you

No, I'm saying that he was a CRIMINAL. I didn't say he was an outlier, and I couldn't because he wasn't - he was PRESIDENT.

>nothing to be concerned about because it's abnormal.

Oh, I'd have been concerned about him were I alive during his Presidency. I don't think that the words of an ex-President who was a criminal would "disgust me with an entire nation", however. I certainly wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised to see that somebody I already knew was criminal held warped moral views like the ones he had.

If what he did were common practice, all of our presidents would have been impeached or resigned.

So you blame the climate or the food for you lack of semantic process abilities?

> I don't think that the words of an ex-President who was a criminal would "disgust me with an entire nation",

When you know, please let me know. Your opinion might be used by the consistent use of this tactic. It's how "family values" can lather it up against all the sinners and the go their sexual advisors in DC. It's how you can go to Iraq and say it's because of A when it's really B. If this type of world doesn't disgust you then disgusted you'll never be.

> If what he did were common practice, all of our presidents would have been impeached or resigned.

Yes, in the real world justice is the rule. Look at Bush, for example.
