New nick

I didn't want to associate it with that last post, need to shake off the google trail.  hehe.

When I started this nick, I only meant it to mean Linux on the server, not to mean Linux on the desktop.  I tried to clarify that in the beginning, but it never stuck.

I'd really mean to say Slackware or Bu*t, but I don't wanna get googled on Slackware either, and since you know this handle, I'll keep it like this, as per Amerikkangirl's suggestion.  :-)

Actually, I don't feel comfortable at all posting and coming up in Google.  Is that what permalink does?  Why is it that only a few come up.

"You are a *really* strange dude."

Talk to me like a man, not anonymous internet putz with anonymous verbiage.  You aren't even calling out specific examples.

You use a nickname.  It's not like your real name comes up on these.  Also, it's not like these come up when you Google on your real name.

Get over it.

The google trail? Of people googling your anonymous internet nick?  And your way of shaking this stalker is to announce the link to the previous nick. Further the new nick is nearly identical to the old.

"When I started this nick, I only meant it to mean Linux on the server, not to mean Linux on the desktop."

What kind of a freak chooses his nick as a homage to linux on the server.

actually, this cant be the real LorB as he was quitting CoT altogether.

I distinctly remember him saying so.

frankly I think its a bit on the nose to start pretending to be someone who is no longer around to protect themselves.

I would prefer that you cease doing so.

dont make me start deleting your posts.

Now come on, wSV, if you start doing that, we'll have to start deleting all the stuff you've been posting to Blah lately.  Entire threads would be completely demolished if we did that.

A lot of people called me out on that, especially when the nick was new, and they always assumed I meant desktop, and thus seemed to hold this secret grudge by what they thought my nick was implying.

Thanks, Aaron.

Wow, there are some hostile creatures on this board.  At least if I stop posting here, I can post to blah.  It seems like anyone who would want to comment on my posts, or express real interest, is already on blah.  There's no reason I have to stay here.

:) great.  so how about you either do it, or stop threatening to do it?

seriously, you would be missed.  I enjoy your company on here.

but you are one threat away from having your absence enforced through the use of advanced cybernetic programming.

honestly LorB.  its childish to make empty threats.  are you a man or an attention seeking member of the Cyber Sisters?

...either do it, or shut up about it...

Uh...you're welcome?

Really, either place is fine to post at.  Keep the old nickname, or use the new LORB.  What bugs me are the people that totally disrupt continuity.  I know that a bunch of the names here that I don't know are people who have been here forever, and I can't be arsed to make the effort to figure out who is who.  Bastards won't hold still long enough to draw a clear bead on 'em.

Fair point.

LORB I wasn't being hostile.

If being weird is your thing, run with it and don't let anyone stir you from it.

Do you know other people who have nicknames taken from some product that they don't have that much to do with?

I mean like if my nick were OSX Spotight or Epson Printer would that strike you as odd?

What does this say about this board, then?  Which regular poster is saying this?
