Buying jets is not the same as knowing how to fly them, or how to dogfight. Let them buy all the jets they want. Yawn. Spend all that money on military hardware instead of infrastructure or public health. It kinda sucks to live in Iran nowadays. The standard of living is not as good as it should be given their resources.

It is sad. Iran wasted a golden opportunity in the last 25 years. Take a smart, cultured citzenry, add money and religious fundamentalism and end up with lots of kids who can't do squat and expect the world to owe them one.

If anything defeats Islamic fundamentalism, it's how much Iran fucked up.
