Y'all are a bunch of wankers!

America the land opportunity

Today's event is the reason why millions around the world DO NOT WANT TO LIVE in your mass murdering "democracy."

But carry on with your delusion grandeur that America is a great country.

Your chances of dying in a mass murder rampage in the US is essentially zero.  You're more likely to die of some extremely rare scary disease.

Like herpes on the brain.  That's a real disease and it can kill you.

My condolences to him.

So you find one seriously deluded person from France who wants to go to to US and you conclude that folks are dying to immigrate to America?

Seriously consider suing your elementary school for failing you miserably.

Moshe ignores the fact that these mass murder rampages don't just happen in the US.  There was one here, in New Zealand.  13 people dead.  The US has 70 times the population.  What just happened in Norway?

I don't know what not wanting to pay high taxes has to do with mass shootings.

That's one example, but I have worked with several other people who came to the US and personally known people who would die to come to the US if they could get a visa.

No I don't overlook that.

But when was the last time you heard folks down in New Zealand go like New Zealand! New Zealand! New Zealand! putting up disgusting big ass flag in front of their houses, constantly bragging how great their country is? When did you hear people from New Zealand falsely claiming they live in the greatest country in the world?

Americans are undereducated and heavily propagandized that's why they can't smell shit. They're desensitized.

On the other hand, majority of the world believes that America is a colossal shithole.

Moshe van koskesh, my first comment was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

I actually don't care for the "We're #1!" and flag-waving mentality that you see from Americans. "Kick ass" was said in jest. There are many problems in the US and there are things I disagree with, like the foreign policy and wars, but I have several data points that suggest your assertion (no one wants to come to the US) is wrong. That was my only point, it didn't call for insults (of course this is CoT!).

So you think it's something other than expropriation by force. Understood. And somehow, in your Orwellian view of the world, not wanting to have my earnings taken from me by leeches is a form of parasitism. Who is deluded?

All right. Fair enough sorry about that.

That said 99% of people wanting to live in the US are from extremely impoverished nations.

No sane person with an average middle class income would even remotely consider visiting America much less living there.

This is actually incorrect.  I know of a few people who fell in love with someone from the US and now split their time between the US and NZ.

As for visiting, the US is a great holiday location!  I could make a list of 100 things to do in the US.  Sadly I don't have the money to go there, but if I did, it would be great.

I discussed this with him. Tax rate is not the sole criteria. There's no *developed* country with property rights, rule of law, political & religious freedom, etc., with lower taxes, as far as we both know.

The Bermudas, Bahamas, etc don't count. There's no industry in those places; they're strictly tax havens.

Singapore and Hong Kong have low tax rates, but for various reasons these are not places my friend wants to live.

Andorra is another one of those freak countries with extremely low tax rates that no one would want to move to for starting a business, since there is no real tech industry there.

He considered Bulgaria and Eastern Europe but decided somewhat higher taxes were worth it to avoid the blatant corruption.

He wants his money to sit in an account in a bank incorporated in a country that has industry?

Why?

Your friend isn't especially clear thinking, is he?  have you considered having him medically examined?  Was his reasoning always this poor?

No, he wants to have his money where he can spend and invest it - on a web design, hiring programmers, rent offices, etc., - without all the profits being confiscated. It won't exactly be "sitting" anywhere.
