JOEL on software!

Someone posted a link to an article by the Wall Street Programmer on Dice, this morning, but the post was promptly deleted:

There are 3 other forums: Ardvark, CityDesk, and FogBugz.  I almost never see Joel in the JOS forum, but does everything have to somehow relate to HIM?

Sort of like Joel's incendiary post about ?off, Andrey pissed a lot of people by the way he classlessly refuted the obvious proof that he was the WSP.

If I had to guess, the guy who posted the link was WSP. His shameless self promotion was getting kinda tired.

Yeah well he only did it after getting overwhelmed by ravenous crowds of fans, desperate for him to post something new. He's a really important, really widely-read guy you know.

He really is the The Beatles of wall street programming writing. Joel is more like the The Rolling Stones of programming writing.

Some rivalry is only natural, as are the hordes of screaming babes.

Yeah, you should read WSJ's latest post.  He says he doesn't post at Joel anymore because of the negative responses there, but says he gets like 6,000 hits a day or some high number like that.

It was just some average poster who was once again trying to link him to Butov that posted it, and was only maybe a two sentence post with two links.

Just because Andrey "Deception" Butov says it doesn't make it true. Indeed, one of the oldest tricks in the book to get traffic is to pretend that you already get lots of traffic. Unfortunately WSPs shameless self promotion, and seeming desperation, defy any great traffic claims.

I don't buy it.

Man, that seems like a heckuva lot to me, FWIW.

I did an interview with him on CodeSnipers - http://CodeSnipers.com - and get about 150 referers/day through him.  It's not all that much, but with the low click-through to other sites I figure his own traffic is pretty solid.
