Also, why the f*ck are there only like 6 choppers?
The CNN coverage showed a total of like, 3 coast guard choppers pulling people out of attics and such. From other sources, I've seen like 3 more.
Now I'm sure (mostly) that there are more, but WHERE THE FUCK are the chinooks and deuces and etc etc?? Why are we using rinky-dink Coast Guard shit, manned by guys used to rescuing a dozen or so people from a sinking boat? Where's the military personnel and military hardware?
What the fuck is going on with this shit??
They're over fighting wars in Afghanistan & Iraq.
Also, regular Army choppers aren't equiped for SAR missions, and the pilots aren't well trained for them. The Navy & Coast Guard are the experts, and a bunch of Navy ships & helicopters are on the way.

It's all those Iraqi's fault for shooting down our choppers! If it weren't for them, we'd have enough to save the people of New Orleans!

If they had all been sitting, ready to go, on the runways of NO airport, then they would have all gone?

Dear Chrissy Wells,
It took 36 hours to get them off the ground from where they were so that they could be "on the way" last night?
Yes, muppet, because it took some time for the looters that they're coming to arrest to get organized.

I have to say, this was kind of my reaction to the footage.
I was sort of expecting "Thunderbirds" and we got a re-run of "Asian Tsunami".
I figured America would have convoys of water-tankers and ambulances and rescue gear running 2 wide and miles long down the roads into the area. I was expecting to see this Done Properly, basically.
And instead the fisheries people are driving a couple of boats about...
