Family Guy

It so happened that I watched the Family Guy movie last night (ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies; the bigger boys made me do it; I found it, officer, honest!) and I'm guessing that that's never going to air on TV in the US...

...although, having watched some of series 4 I'm quite surprised *that's* appearing on TV, unless the censors are falling asleep. Things like Peter telling Meg that once he's finished teaching her the ways of me she's going to be "beating them off with both hands" seem a bit too close to the knuckle even for UK TV, so how it's going down in the US I can only guess.

Yeah, but that's a great Freudian slip there, Mat.

I'm always making Freudian slits, saying one thing but meaning my mother.

Wait, no, that's not right...

Am I missing something? Is it out in the US? imdb.com and Fandango aren't saying.

It's not out yet, although it is "out" in a manner of speaking. As I already have seasons 1-3 on DVD and shall be buying season 4 and the movie when they come out I didn't feel too bad about acquiring it ahead of time... (And it's people like me you have to thank for the fact that there IS a season 4... :)

It's pretty much an extended and more risque than normal episode --

Brian: "Quagmire's Cross Country Tour? Isn't there an 'O' in 'country'?"
Quagmire: "No."

-- but it manages to come off quite well; I was a bit worried that stretching it out for 90 minutes would become tiresome, but for fans of the series I highly recommend it. I suspect, though, that it's going to be direct to DVD as I really can't see it being deemed acceptable for network TV; even Fox have their limits. :D

They might show it on Comedy Central at 1 am when all the little kiddies are sleeping ... like they did for "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut" and left all the smut in.

I mean, "Uncle Fucker" just wouldn't be the same if they bleeped it.

Would also be like the version of Mall Rats for one of those women's entertainment based channels. It was kind of amusing how bad the quality of dubbing over Jay's cursing was.
