My 7-year old rocks

Me: What are you building with your LEGOs, there?

Her: A castle!

Me: Oh yeah? That's pretty neat. I see a dungeon.

Her: Yeah there's a skeleton in it, see?

Me: Oh, poor guy. What happened to him?

Her: He couldn't afford healthcare insurance.

Amazing how much kids pick up without being told...

"Amazing how much kids pick up without being told..."

I am amazed by it every day. Kids pick up on everything, and adults endlessly underestimate them.

One of the gifts my 2 3/4 year-old daughter got for Christmas was a little broom/dust pan (she loves helping). We were in the kitchen getting dinner ready, and she had her broom, and suddenly she starts "skating" around , hitting a little ball. After her long approach she shot the ball through the door way, and then celebrated her score. She was playing hockey with her broom and a ball, even though we don't watch hockey (except maybe Olympic hockey), and we have no idea where she got that from. Maybe it's a Canadian thing and it's in her genes.

None as smart as Atkins' daughter.

"When my daughter was about four years old, she still had a hard time grasping the concept of marriage. But anyway, I got out our wedding album, thinking visual images would help, and explained the entire service to her. Once finished, I asked if she had any questions, and she replied, 'Oh. I see. Is that when Mommy came to work for us?'"

Mine has started wondering aloud who created God - and furthermore has announced that he wants to study hard so he can work out the answer.

Since he goes to a Catholic school this could be interesting...

Poor kid, being brought up with no money in the house.

Yeah, AD, two solid loving parents, good schooling, and food on the table is no substitue for an XBOX 360 and a plasma tv. Dress it up, your obsession is showing.
