Conspiracy theory or plain truth?
I came upon this site theocracywatch.org. It basically provides information about how some group is trying to convert the US into a theocracy with the ultimate goal of world domination.
http://www.theocracywatch.org/audio-video.htmLook at "the rise of dominionism" video for example.
As conspiracy theories goes, it is very well substantiated. Opinions?

They are quite open about it. It's not really a theory.

They don't like the word dominionist. I think Pharisee is appropriate.

Well, if it is so, its still a theory in the sense of a "system of facts with explantory power". As in the theory of relativity. Thats beside the point though.
I find all this hard to believe though. Not that it is happening, but the almost complete absense of an orchestrated counter movment.

My perception of those who want more church in their government is that they think we DO live in a theocracy, and they're mad at those darn liberals for subverting the government to their secular wishes.

Isn't converting everyone pretty much their entire schtick? I don't think it's a conspiracy to sit around and plan how to accomplish their rational goals.
Now, a real conspiracy theory is if I said to you that Iraq had WMDs and wanted to nuke the US at the first opportunity. ;)
> As in the theory of relativity. Thats beside the point though.
If I punch you in the face is that a theory? Then what they are doing isn't a theory.

Like this?
"Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors."
"Their purpose is to protect the national interest of the United States, and indeed the interests of people throughout the Middle East and around the world."
"Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons."

Hostile much? And no, that is a single fact. Two facts with a causal relationship would be a minimum.

No. Just stating it like it is. The conservative christian right is trying to take over america. It's not a theory because they are doing it.

..which is why it is a theory in the scientific sense of the word.

You need a theory to explain something. The earth rotates around the sun. That's not a theory. Why it does so is a theory.

As I've said before the US is already a theocracy, that its one that so far allows dissent may be to its credit but that still doesn't obscure the fact that without adherence to a religious belief, preferably Christian, political office of any kind is impossible.
