Wizard Of Earthsea

*brilliant* book.

*incredibly crap* movie.

That's what Ursula le Guin thinks as well and disassociated herself from it. To be fair the first half of the film isn't so bad, its the plot thereon, especially the ending which is so bad.

I knew it was going to be bad. I stayed *far* away from that turkey.

Didn't even realize they made a movie. Book was good though.

Yah, the "SciFi" network, that made the movie, is more intested in SciFi horror and Buggy-Eyed-Monsters (BEM) than they are in "real" Science Fiction.

Thus they tend to take shortcuts and cut corners in ways that can be appalling, if you really care about the source material.

In fact, the only reason I watch them is because they are keeping the Stargate SG-1 franchise alive. But some of the adds for the additional stuff they do is pretty scuzzy.

"To be fair the first half of the film isn't so bad, its the plot thereon,"

heh. I didn't get that far. I watched the first 35 minutes and gave up.

its *amazingly* bad.

I really dont understand why they have to take a good book and make it crap...youd think it would be less work to take a crap book and make it crap.
