I get evites all the time at my work account and have never gotten a drop of spam, so yes, I'd call it a coincidence.

You are lucky, then because EVERY time someone sends me an Evite, I get spammed for a week or so afterward until the Gmail filter figures out what to do about it.

I just don't understand why people love Evite so much. Why should I be happy about people giving my email addy to a 3rd party?

You are one seriously uptight dude. SPAM happens whether your email goes out to third parties or not. It's inevitable. INEVITABLE. Just get a filter and shut up.

I had the same attitude towards evite. I actually called them and told them not to share my email address. I just stopped getting evites after that, which kind asucks because I always end up learning about parties the day before "So are you coming to my party?" "What party?" "I sent you the evite" "Oh, I don't get evites."

Anyway, have you read their privacy policy? They don't share email addresses.

Yes, I've read their privacy policy, but the spam pattern sure is odd. Maybe they're spamming me as a penalty for not registering. :)

Whatever the reason, I seriously NEVER get spam at that address, specifically because I only use it to communicate with friends and relatives, never for online purchases or posting to forums, etc, etc.

Oh well. Point taken, Warner...it IS an OCD thing on my part to like seeing my spam folder empty, but it sure is nice when it works out.

My spam folder currently has 917 items in it. Know why I don't care? Because it's my SPAM folder.
