Here's the deal: I have an old computer and an older the computer. The older computer is my main machine here in Tartu, and the old computer is my dad's old rig.

The old computer is better specced, so what I want to do is put the HD from the older computer (which has XP on it) along with the old one (which has an HD, but no OS).

So I put the older HD in there, set the jumpers as master on the older HD and slave on the old HD... and get an error that says "Auto Detecting Pri Master". After which it hangs.

Any ideas?

The bios failes in identifying the primary HD. Go in to bios setup and enter the size and stuff manually.

Retard.

2 IDE slots on the MB ? Picked the right slot?

Assuming "old" is in years not months.
