Oops, 7 Days. Hey look I don't update on weekends.

I laughed so hard I cried

I watched Chappelle Show Season 2 on DVD today. I know I'm late..the DVD has been available for awhile.

Paul Mooney is so awful yet so wonderful. Negrodamus. Damn. But the best lines were during his film review with two blonde women commenting on Gone With the Wind, The Last Samurai.

To paraphrase Mooney: "The Last Samurai??!! With Tom Cruise as the star? That's so insulting! You know, that's that's just ridiculous. How is it Tom Cruise can be the last damn samurai!?

Hell, I'll make a movie. I'll call it the Last Nigga in Compton, starring Tom Hanks!"

I know I'm lame. I just never thought of it that way before. I mean, it is a little strange that Hollywood consistently gets history SO WRONG and while we hail Hattie McDaniels in breaking barriers in Hollywood for her performance in Gone With the Wind, we still have ridiculously biased films that purport to describe history.

Say what you like about Chappelle, but he was fresh and funny and attacked subjects in a way that Mind of Mencia dude just can't touch (I suppose Mencia is supposed to fill in Chappelle's slot?).

Yeah, I brought up race again. Heh. Spank me.

Nothing perverted about spanking. I don't mind a little domination. Meow!

I don't mind giving it, either. So if anyone wants to bend over and take it up the rear I am happy to tickle your prostate...

On your other thread:
"The Descent of Man"

Are you(sharkfish) male? I couldn't remember. Doesn't matter, just curious.

LOL. She's fine. Had her spayed this week (Ovarihysterectomy, the doc called it). She's not back to being "herself" yet though.

On coming home from her operation, she had that shocked look of "WTF and WHY!?"

I feel bad. I hope I didn't take away her personality. She's got a nasty little scar on her belly. I dunno. I just saw her snatch that hind leg up behind her head, straight up in the air while she licked her crotch. Maybe she's back...

Teehee.

I'll refrain for here/now.

I've seen some of Chappelle's stuff. Some very funny, some very crude, and some both.

I have 2 cats. One went into heat one time before we got her spayed, the other didn't.

She'll be fine. She'll hate the vet, but she'll forgive you.

You know, sharkfish, ?Off seems to be the only place you mention race, and you seem to virtually never mention gender elsewhere, too. (Seen your posts on JoS in the past.)

Aside from these, you don't give any indication as to race/gender. Hence the "writing with a male voice".

Yeah, Aaron. It is only in moments of weakness that I ever mention my race, gender, or sexual preferences. Once I do that, it is nearly impossible to go back because then those things become the major subjects that are of most interest to the audience.

For the most part, as long as I don't reveal those three things, the web is a place where my idiocy is blamed on things I have control over :)

"because then those things become the major subjects that are of most interest to the audience."

I'm sure your near-constant posts about oppression have nothing whatsoever to do with it. :)

However, I agree with the others that if you need to talk about it this is a pretty good place to do so - despite our near-constant idiocy, there are some pretty good people here, a diverse contingent of opinions, and the average IQ often tends above 100. ;)

Ya know, I'd own up to that, however if you do a search on sharkfish you'll find you are very wrong about my posting trends.

In fact, I mentioned what you call oppression issues one time fairly recently and ever since, even when not prompted, every thread I start gets turned into that so I just decided to go with it, since that is what interests people here.

Those are the longest threads and the most interesting debates. Good? Bad? I don't care. I'm not making a judgement. Just enjoying ?off for what it is.

in all fairness philo she does actually make a largish number of posts on many, many other topics.

perhaps you are just narrowing your perception so you only see what you want to see?

"an email from a man who posted to a site about giving a cat an orgasm? Im not sure Id open it kiddo."

This is what I get for being gone for the day an reading through the forum top to bottom rather than bottom to top.

Wait, forget I said "bottom" or "top" someone around here is bound to take it the wrong way.

I'm Rick James Bitch. Chapelle is hilarious. If he wants to tackle race on his show, I say more power to him. I think a "The Last Nigga in Compton" starring Tom Hanks could be hilarious, if done right, but I think the idea itself is too stale. "The white guy who thinks he's black" has just been done to death. Though, I have to say. I'd love to see Tom Cruise on the talk show circuit promoting that movie.

Chapelle, Jon Stewart, and perhaps some of those learning channels are the only things that make me miss cable TV.

"in all fairness philo she does actually make a largish number of posts on many, many other topics."

Frequency != (Quantity || Majority)  :)

Anyway, I do sympathise with what she's saying - I often feel the pressure of "they're going to drag my employment at Microsoft into this" when posting, and have in fact cancelled a number of posts because I knew there was no way they would be read objectively.

Of course, I can quit the job and you guys knew me before I worked there (though some still seem to think that I'm defined by my job); I can't imagine having to deal with "oh, so what does the black chick think" on a regular basis.

Philo, I think everyone goes through that (with a couple notable exceptions ;).

Even on purely technical subjects, not just on this forum, there are many things on my mind that I don't bother to mention, because the conversation just goes straight to hell. The CS world resembles a bit those old days when people used to kill each over believing in irrational numbers.

I mean, people can't legally kill each other, but many power relations and antagonisms are still there. For a modern example, Sun definitely is willing to lie (the polite term is "mislead") to achieve very rational goals.

Remember how soon McNealy and Ellison swooped down after 9-11 to get fat gov't surveillance contracts? "You have zero privacy anyway. Get over it." And he's right, but it's not patriotic to bend over and let the government run amok.
